Farmington Crossing has seen great sales success over the last year. Even with the softening on the market, Garbett Homes has sold all homes released in the first and second phases. The third phase has now been released and interest is high. Garbett has introduced two new home styles (The Courtyard and The Patio) and ten new floorplans for buyers to choose from. All homes feature attached two car garages and up to three bedrooms and two and one half bathrooms. Four new decorated model homes are now open. Selling prices are now in the $150,000’s, even lower than the first two phases. This price point is unique for a community in Farmington east of the I-15 freeway.
Perhaps the relative affordability of town homes compared to single family homes in the area has generated most of the interest or the fact that Farmington doesn’t have a lot of affordable homes to start with. In Farmington the need for affordable housing has increased in recent years according to the latest figures from the Salt Lake Board of realtors, Farmington’s average selling price is bordering $250,000, the highest of all Davis County cities. While other car dealerships are cutting back, National Auto Plaza is expanding. The independent dealership marks continued success with the grand opening this month of its second location at 5501 S. State on Murray’s Auto Row.
During the celebration, buyers can secure zero-percent financing — which is hard to find in any economy — and many other special promotions. Visit the store for more details.
The dealership’s management sees the company’s expansion as an indication of their strength, exceptional customer service and dedication to providing quality, pre-owned vehicles.
“It’s a great company, and we are growing,” said Sean Kealey, the general manager of the new Murray location. “Our intention is to be the number one independent dealer in the state, and we are pretty much there right now.”
National Auto Plaza opened the Murray location on Oct. 1, 2009. That day alone they sold 12 cars, Kealey said. He added that the dealership’s success is due to their loyal customers and great inventory. They carry everything from foreign sedans to the sleekest SUVs on the market. Read more of this article »

The owners of Granite Furniture pose for a picture in their store.
Granite Furniture is a household name for many families across Utah. The trusted company — which celebrates its 100th anniversary next year — has furnished countless homes across the state, and it continues to offer some of the best products and services at exceptional prices.
“We are still here, and we can still fulfill your needs,” says vice president Roger Richards, who has worked at Granite Furniture with his brother John, the current CEO, since they were 10. They are now 61 and 63, respectively. “I never got an allowance, but I always had a job,” Roger notes.
Their grandfather, who was a contractor, helped build and open the original store in 1910 in Sugar House. The business grew steadily and eventually spread across the state, with locations spanning from Bingham to Provo.
Until recently, Granite Furniture was headquartered in Sugar House, where it occupied a large showroom and warehouse that still stands today. (That area of Sugar House is now being redeveloped.)
